I turned 33 Today

1 minute

I turned 33 today.

Yesterday I drove all the way to Goa to celebrate my birthday with my parents.

Smooth roads, and not the usual traffic.

On the way just took 10-minute breaks to sip coffee that we carried along.

Cruised through the fertile plains of Maharashtra, and clicked monkeys while driving down the western ghats.

Everything was so beautiful, enjoyed every bit of it.

I was stopped at the Goa border.

I was ready for this, I knew that they would ask me for an E-pass and the COVID test.

But little did I knew about what was going to happen next.

I had to register for the test at the border, pay, then go to a designated hospital and wait in a long queue to get tested.

While I went through this, I blamed everything, myself, my fate, people, bureaucracy, China and COVID.

I pointed out how the staff is not trained for operational excellence and unceasingly frowned at the situation.

It took me 8 hours to go through the ordeal.

It took me 8 hours to happily drive 420 Km from Pune to the border.

My home was just 30 odd Km from the border.

Well, life is like that.

Deal with it.

And then forget it.

Tomorrow is a new day.
